NOTICE
1
When using a vise to reassemble the power trim/tilt assembly, do not tighten the vise excessively. The cylinder comp.
can be damaged. Be sure to set the vise on the specified positions of the power trim/tilt assembly (P. 14-9).

• Do not reuse the O-rings and the oil seals.
• Do not use a shop towel, cloth or gloves during reassembly.

• Do not reuse the drained ATF (automatic transmission fluid).
• Reassemble the power trim/tilt assembly with care not to let dust, dirt or foreign material enter the cylinder comp. or

gear pump assembly.
• Pour the ATF (automatic transmission fluid) into the power trim/tilt assembly slowly so it does not foam.

• Clean the removed parts in fresh ATF and blow each port of the parts with compressed air. Check that the parts are not
contaminated with durst or dirt before reassembly.

1) Clean the cylinder comp. with fresh ATF (automatic
transmission fluid) and blow each port with compressed

air. Check the cylinder comp. for freedom from foreign
material.

2) Apply ATF to a new O-ring and install it on the 2-way valve.
9
3) Tighten the 2-way valve to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 6.8 N . m (0.7 kgf . m, 5.1 lbf . ft)

4) Apply ATF to a new O-ring and install it on the valve comp. B.

5) Apply ATF to the outer surface of the valve comp. B, and
install it in the cylinder comp.
Note the installation direction of the valve comp. B.

6) Apply ATF to a new O-ring and install it on the sleeve.

7) Install a new backup ring on the spool valve, and apply ATF

to the outer surface of the spool valve.
8) Install the spool valve on the sleeve.
Note the installation direction of the spool valve.
9) Apply ATF to the outer surface of the sleeve, and install it
in the cylinder comp.
Note the installation direction of the sleeve.
